Build requirements
Every kit and assembled butterfly is a handmade custom-order product, prepared in small batches for the selected configuration and wing style. DIY kits are intended for makers ages 14 and over. They include a video assembly guide and email support, but first-time builders should expect a learning curve. Careful fitting, calibration, and basic hand-tool work are required; cutting, drilling, or soldering may be needed for some configurations.
Inspect and test promptly
Check the outer package and contents as soon as delivery arrives. Photograph any visible transit damage and contact the carrier and support@flutterwingstudio.com before discarding the packaging. We recommend testing the flight controller and servos within 24 hours of delivery, following the supplied guide and before irreversible soldering or modification.
Flight and controller expectations
Flight behavior is affected by controller setup, assembly alignment, radio or Wi-Fi interference, the flying environment, and pilot input. Runaway movement, intermittent connection, failure to take off, or unstable attitude does not by itself confirm a hardware defect. Some phones, including certain iPhone models, may provide an unstable Wi-Fi control connection because of operating-system restrictions; a dedicated controller is recommended for the most consistent experience.
Returns after assembly or use
Because each product is handmade and customized to order, we do not accept returns or issue refunds for change of mind or other non-quality reasons where permitted by applicable law. Products that have been soldered, modified, assembled, test-flown, or used cannot be returned for non-quality reasons. This does not limit remedies for confirmed defects, items that arrive damaged, or any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country or region. See our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Keep your order number, packaging photos, and a short fault video so we can diagnose issues efficiently.
Arrival damage and initial testing
If the parcel or product arrives damaged, photograph the shipping label, outer packaging, inner packaging, and affected parts, then contact us promptly. Please do not discard packaging or continue assembly until we reply. We recommend completing the guided electronics test within 24 hours of delivery.
3-month limited hardware warranty
The flight controller and servos include a three-month limited hardware warranty from the delivery date for verified manufacturing defects. After remote diagnosis, we may provide repair, replacement parts, or a replacement unit as appropriate. If a return is required, contact us before shipping so we can confirm the address, declared contents, and shipping responsibility. This voluntary warranty is in addition to, and does not replace, statutory consumer rights.
What is not covered
The limited warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect soldering, disassembly, modification, incorrect assembly, misuse, impact or crash damage, water exposure, dropping, reversed battery connection, incorrect voltage, or normal wear. Wing membranes, batteries, and similar consumable parts are not covered for wear after use; manufacturing defects present on delivery remain eligible for review.
Paid inspection and repair
For assembly, calibration, or non-warranty damage, approved return-to-workshop inspection and repair may be available for a fee. We will confirm the service scope, price, and shipping responsibility before you send the product. Is this a children's toy?
No. The kits and complete version are 14+ maker products with small parts and powered components. They are not suitable for young children.
Is this a display ornament?
No. It is a functional remote-control flying product. The DIY versions fly after correct assembly and setup; the complete version is assembled and tested before dispatch and operates after battery installation.
What is the difference between the three products?
The $128.00 kit uses the accessible basic-controller format, the $199.00 kit adds the FlySky i6X and the documented full component set, and the $329.00 version arrives assembled and checked with its operating control system.
When will it ship?
DIY kits are prepared for dispatch in 7-10 business days. Complete bionic butterflies are made to order and dispatch in 10-15 business days.
What if a part is missing or damaged?
Contact support with your order number and photos before continuing assembly. We will help identify the issue and arrange the appropriate replacement support.
Is it remote controlled?
Yes. The DIY materials kits are designed to become remote-control flying butterflies after assembly. The complete bionic butterfly arrives assembled and only needs battery installation before operation.
Does it include batteries?
The complete version is designed for operation after battery installation. Each product page will state the exact battery type and whether batteries are included before checkout.
How do I choose a wing style?
Select Aurora Blue, Cosmic Lavender, or Rose Pink on the product page. The selected Wing style is recorded with the cart item and order. Two additional style positions are reserved for future releases.
